We knew for a sure thing we needed to get outta dodge and visit the Myers in Ft. Worth for Spring Break. We also really wanted to see Brad's sister Lindsay who lives in Dallas.
We started off with a bang visiting the water gardens in Ft. Worth.
They were breathtaking.
Miles couldn't stop looking around at everything. Just staring at the water. He loves water and this was just over stimulating for him.
Kevin and Cohen took their time as they travelled through the steps which were not connected and any wrong step could send you falling to the bottom of the pyramid of waterfalls.
Miles would not look for ANYTHING. Too busy staring.
It also was very loud, so I don't think he heard my attempts.
The Myers Family pic.
Our family picture.
We are tiny dots in the pyramid of falls.
Oh hey baby, love you.
Mom, I'm no way going to look at you, this is overloading my baby brain right now!
See how he is diving down. He really really wanted to touch and be right up next to this water. Which makes me think he is only going to become even more difficult.
Then there was a more peaceful area of the gardens.
With a pond and trees and a couple making out for all to see.
We thought it was just beautiful.
Cohen spent the entire time playing with the moving leaves, and catching them and putting them back in, little leaf fishies.
He also is a water guru. He loves taking baths. He and Miles took a bath together, and after awhile Cohen started waving to Miles. Waving bye bye to him. He wanted Miles to get out. So funny. He waves bye bye to Heather or Kevin when he doesn't want them around, or he waves bye bye to something he doesn't want anymore. So cute. Miles got out shortly after from their double bath, because he fell under, and that was just too much.
We played and played, and Miles forgets all about hunger or sleep when he is out and about playing.
We decided to venture into their apartment pool.
It was FREEZING.
Brad and I both took a dip, the pool was at least 40 degrees, and outside it was like 85, so it was not to my liking.
We tired a few times, but never quite got a successful Mommy-Son picture.
Say what? I'm supposed to open my eyes.
It takes full force to even hold this babe in place for a picture.
Brad took him in the pool and he didn't even let out a peep, just loved loved loved being in the water. Brad kept dipping him in and his little arms would go crazy and his face would get all squinty and he would take a big gasp. Poor thing.
Heather is the kind of person that is so good at decorating and celebrating every holiday. She makes life fun, and loves to be creative and amazing. Its just her thing.
So we awoke to presents and a green breakfast.
She got Brad a shirt and she knew I loved socks, so she got me some fun green argyle socks. I die for argyle. And double die for argyle socks.
Brad's plate.
She hot glued felt and put rolos inside this clover. Hello? You are so awesome Heather.
We had a beautiful table topper.
See her little buckets up there, ya, her little apartment is also fully decorated for Easter. Oh how someday I aspire to be a decorator.
Brad ate several waffles. They were green but delicous.
Heather made everything from scratch, waffles, syrup and all.
She didn't however grow the kiwis. (You knew that was coming)
We finished up the day with going to a St. Patricks day celebration, then we drove home to meet my brothers who were driving to see me from a pivot job in OKlahoma.
Miles then got SO sick after that trip. It was at least 4 days of no sleeping, coughing, congestion and sleeping with me, so we could catch some zzzs. I finally took him to the doctor and it was nothing diagnosable of course. Probably a virus.
We also saw Brad's sister Lindsay on the trip, with her we went to IKEA and took the toll roads to save an hour, and she said it would cost 60 cents or something. We just got the bill in the mail...8 dollars. Yikes. Oh well, it was worth the saved hour both ways.
We went to a delicious bbq place. Best we have ever had in fact.
Called Lockharts.
Yummers.
Then we went and visited the JFK kill spot.
Then we went back to her apartment where Miles and I fell asleep while they played some shooting game. We left at like 1 AM. Loved it, but man its exhausting with a baby. He is such a good sport though. He only let out a few cries on our way home from IKEA. He pretty much went the entire day with no nap, he got a short one after I put the cover over the carseat on our way to Lockharts because he couldn't sleep while he had me to look at.
It was a wonderful break, and I'm so glad we have the Myers to crash when we need to get outta town and have a good time.
